VERDICT OF THE JURY

We bring in a verdict of accidental death caused by a

bullet wound fired by the police or by one of the petty

officers of H.M.S. "Alacrity", who assisted the police in

suppressing the ricts of the 2nd November. Under the cir-

cumstances we consider their action in firing quite justi-

fied. We also wish to commend the action of the three na-

val men in going to the assistance of the police.
